WHO WE ARE

Grace Presbyterian Church is a committed member of the Grace Presbyterian Church of New Zealand (GPCNZ), a national Presbyterian Church that is reformed in theology and evangelical in spirit.

Grace Presbyterian Church has been in Christchurch for 50 years. We started out as a small community of people meeting in Rowley Ave, Hoon Hay with a desire to honour and worship God, remain faithful to the Bible's truths and reach the local community for Christ. Over the last 50 years, God has been kind to us, remained faithful to us, has used us and has grown us, all by His grace.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We adhere to the Westminster Confession of Faith as summarised below:

  • Firmly hold to the Bible as its rule of faith and life. (Hebrews 4:12-13)

  • Have a passion for God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) and a passion for people. (Matthew 22:37-39)

  • Desire to seek to bring glory to God and to be aware of where He is leading us through His Word and Holy Spirit. (Colossians 1:28-29)

  • Dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who are lost, both here in New Zealand and elsewhere. (Matthew 28:18-20)

  • Committed to the Reformed faith as the most consistent presentation and outworking of Biblical Christianity.

OUR VISION FOR CHRISTCHURCH

TRANSFORMING LIVES BY PROCLAIMING CHRIST’S GLORY

We share Paul's expectations, who, inspired by the Spirit, desired to see Christians transformed more and more into the image of God. We seek to help our church, children and communities be renewed by the glorious grace of Jesus Christ.

“and we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18
