Semester 1, 2016. Starts 14 March, ends 20 June, 2016.

Monday evenings 7:30 – 9:30, at Grace House, 29 Maidstone Rd, Ilam.

However wonderful or weird in our experience, everyone is part of a family! This lecture series will explore the nature of family formation and dynamics in the light of the Scriptures.

Topics covered will include: How we relate to each other;  The history of ‘the family’;  How ‘the family’ impacts society today;  How our own family dynamics affect our lives and the Church.

This series is free to all participants and will be taught by Steve Williams.

Steve holds a M.A. (Wheaton Graduate School, USA) in theological studies and interpersonal relations, and a Ph.D. (Florida State University, USA) in family science and family therapy. Over the past 4 decades, Dr Williams has lectured internationally at both the undergraduate and graduate level, and has served as an interdenominational consultant in pastoral care.

The first Sunday of each month, we plan to have a shared lunch together after morning worship. The start time for lunch will be around 1pm, at Christchurch boy’s High School.   Please bring food to share around so all can enjoy lunch together.

This will be a good opportunity to get to know other people at GPC church and to encourage each other. If the weather is suitable, people can bring sports equipment (eg soccer balls, cricket gear) and we can play games at the school.

Last Saturday of each month, all men are invited to meet together for breakfast.

Arrive at 7:30 and home by 8:45.  Join together for spiritual and physical food, plus friendship.

We meet each Thursday, at Grace House, 29 Maidstone Rd, Ilam, at 7pm for Bible Study.  This is a mixed group aimed at giving people in the work force opportunity to study the Bible together and grow in their faith. Please contact John 0273879516  for more information.

Dr. Bob Smart, a pastor from the United States who spoke at Grace a couple years back, has a blog about our Identity in Christ. This blog is a great complement to the Identity study that many have done in growth groups, and Rusty highly recommends it!

Grace Presbyterian Church of Christchurch meets at  Boys High School, Straven Road, Fendalton. The church services will take place in the “Big Room” building at the end of the driveway.  We start our worship time at 10:30am.  We would love you to join us, and bring your friends.
